What is a concussion?
A concussion is caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head, causing the brain to move around in the skull. Most concussions are mild and not life-threatening.
However, you should go to your nearest emergency department if you have any of the following
- drowsy or cannot wake up
- Have one pupil that is larger than the other
- Have a seizure
- Cannot recognize people or places
- Experience nausea and vomiting
- Continue to have a persistent headache
