Mark Mass, M.D.

Dr. Mass opened Lake Forest Acute Care in 2013 after seeing a need for accessible, walk-in, urgent care services in Lake Forest. Dr. Mass is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. He graduated from The University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1988. He then completed an internship in General Surgery through the University of Michigan. This was followed by a Residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. After completing his residency, Dr. Mass served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center. Dr. Mass has been on staff at Lake Forest Hospital since 1999, where he has served as the EMS Medical Director. Dr. Mass’s favorite part of being a doctor at Lake Forest Acute Care is getting to know his patients and hearing their stories.
Dr. Mass has raised four daughters in Lake Forest, having lived in the community over the past 20 years with his wife, Dr. Karen Mass. He is active in the community and is frequently seen walking his Wheaton terrier. He was a youth soccer coach for 10 years and continues to support youth soccer in Lake Forest.
